You will be required to register for the event and collect your race numbers from The Bay Horse, Oxenhope on Saturday the 6th of July.
Getting to the start From Oxenhope station there will be a bus service to get competitors to the start at the Wagon and Horses. A ticket can be purchased for £2.50 for bus travel when you collect your race numbers.
Keighley and Worth Valley railway is offering free travel for those taking part in the race, the on production of your race number. This means that you can park in Keighley, or anywhere along the KWVR line, and use the train.
For those driving there is limited parking in the village and so we are encouraging folks to park near The Dog and Gun, which is the finish, and walking down to the start in the village. The pub has some parking and a local farmer also gives us use of his field. There will also be limited spaces in KWVR overflow car park at Oxenhope on a first come first served basis. Anyone wishing to park in Haworth can use Wyedean’s car park FOC.
The Course: Teams of two (male, female or mixed) from the start, walk or run to the Bay Horse Inn where a bale of straw (or half bale depending on category entered) is picked up and head up to the finish at the Dog & Gun, some 1 1/2 miles up a gentle hill, via the former “Idiot Hut” Social Club, the Lamb Inn and former Shoulder of Mutton. A pint of beer (or half-pint depending on category entered) is drunk by teams at each stop.
The Finish: The Dog & Gun. There will be a funnel which all teams will follow. As soon as each team crosses the finish line their race medals will be given.
There will be marshals along the route and the route to be taken will be obvious!
